So, Asher wasn't up for Halloween this year. He spent more time trying to take his Candy Corn costume off then he did wearing it. He was not fond of his costume, at all. Bob and I managed to snap these few pictures in the few seconds he had his costume on, and as you can see he was very upset at the whole "dress up" process. We didn't get to trick or treat because Asher decided that 6:30 was bed time and he promptly passed out with a bottle in his mouth. Hopefully next year he'll understand the fun in Halloween and be more agreeable to participate. So much for a photo session this year!

Flu Season has Arrived
The best way to prevent getting the flu is to be vaccinated.
Also, please remember to wash your hands with soap and water frequently throughout the day. Alcohol based hand sanitizer is also effective at preventing contamination. Avoid putting your hands near your mouth and eyes and cover your mouth if you cough or sneeze.
For more information you can go to the Centers for Disease Control web site at www.cdc.gov

Beach Trip 2009
The last week of August we went to the beach with a few couples. We all have children around the same age. It was SOOOOOOOOO much fun but SOOOOOOOOO tiring at the same time.
Meet Grover, Asher, and Sawyer.
Meet William! You can usually find William cruising around the other boys trying to pick up the food they dropped on the floor or eating their left-overs. And I must add, William is a fanatic for bananas!
Sweet Sawyer!
Hi Asher! He's trying to put sand and sea shells in his mouth. I think he learned it from Grover and Sawyer!
What a View!
Summer Accomplishments...
1. pulling himself up on furniture and cruising around
2. crawling everywhere...and I mean EVERYWHERE
3. eating grown-up food (even vegetables...green peas, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, carrots)
4. saying "ma-ma" and "da-da"
5. laughing out loud and babbling
6. eating paper (i.e. magazines, the mail, etc.)
7. trying to play with electrical sockets (we've had the house baby-proofed for a while now)
We're having a blast watching him grow-up. Here's a few pics from the summer.

Mother's Day
This was my very first Mother's Day and it turned out to be great! We celebrated in Andalusia. The day started as normal with me making bottles, feeding Asher, changing poopy diapers, etc. Sunday morning Bob was a wonderful husband and gave me a pendent with the December birthstone, blue topaz, since our entire family has a birthday in December. I LOVE my gift. Thanks Bob! It would have been nice to have Bob around the entire day but he had to go to work so Asher and I hung out together all day. We went to church with Bob's family and then had lunch at the club. The rest of the day we spent driving back to Daphne and preparing for the week ahead. It may not sound like much but it really was a nice relaxing weekend.
We also got to meet Ollie Pearl for the first time. Hi Ollie! She is a sweetie pie and just as beautiful as her mommy. She's just so tiny. It was hard for me to remember Asher being that small. I've included a picture of Ollie for you all. What an angel!

Cute stuff!!
I love the picture above. Asher's doing whatever he wants as my mother "babysits" in the background while snoring really loudly.
Asher on his bouncer almost in tears.
Also this month we have graduated from size 2 diapers to size 3 diapers. Big accomplishment! I have also started teaching him to drink from a sippy cup. He has 2 cups that he plays with in order to learn how to hold them. I generally put water in them and I teach him to drink while he's eating his baby food. Surprisingly though he can drink better if I remove the sippy cup top and just let him drink normally. He feels like a big boy when Mommy lets him drink from a cup!
Well, there's a short update of what's going on in my world. Hopefully I'll be blogging again sooner rather than later.
One more thing...
CONGRATULATIONS LYNSEY ON A BEAUTIFUL HEALTHY BABY GIRL!
